VectorGeomatics Land Surveying LtdGIS SpecialistVector Geomatics is a locally owned and operated, professional land surveying company, operating out of Fort St John, British Columbia which provides a wide range of professional land surveying, municipal engineering, planning, and land information/mapping solutions to oil and gas, transportation and land development clients within North Eastern British Columbia.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have post secondary training and/or education in GIS from a recognized and accredited institution, with specific experience using the ESRI suite of software (Arcinfo/ArcGIS, Arcview, ArcSDE, ArcIMS). The successful applicant will also have a demonstrated background and understanding of GIS principles and practices, plus a sound understanding of SAFE FME, MS Access, relational database fundamentals, SQL, and cartographic abilities is a must.
Considered Assets:
The favored candidate will also have knowledge and experience with ArcObjects (or MapObjects), SQL Server, AutoCAD, general database design, knowledge of GPS data collecting and post processing, networking and system design knowledge, imagery processing experience (satellite and/or orthophotography), and substantial GIS analysis experience.
Job Duties:
- Compile information from multiple sources to provide hard copy and digital maps and facility plans for the oil and gas industry
- Build queries and gerate reports
- Maintain and improve spatial database
- Develop online mapping product
