The Geographic information systems (GIS) technician reports in to the Mining Reclamation Group
Key Accountabilities:
• Data management, including Geodatabase administration, edition and replication
• Edit and produce maps
• Write specifications and technical reports, monitor data for quality and consistency
Qualification Requirements:
• Completion of college/vocational or technical training. A Bachelors degree in the related field would be considered an asset
• Solid knowledge and ability to apply mapping skills related to GIS such as cartography and spatial data analysis
• 1-3 years of experience in the geospatial industry
• ESRI ArcGIS 9.3 experience
• Windows Office Applications, including Word, Excel and Power Point
• Microsoft Access/SQL databases
• Valid Drivers license

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with others at various levels within the company
• Motivated, self starter who can work well independently or within a team environment
• An effective communicator with the ability to develop positive working relations across a multitude of business units
• Exercises good judgment on complex decisions
