Transportation Planner, Sr.

Job Details

Wardrop's Infrastructure Division is seeking an Sr. Transportation Planner to provide drafting/design support to our various Wardrop offices on land development, environmental, geotechnical and municipal projects.

Responsibilities

- Building and leading our Transportation Planning and Traffic Engineering team and practice.

- Leading and conducting Traffic analyses and traffic impact studies;

- Functional planning and DESIGN studies for rural and urban roadways..

 

Requirements

- 12 - 15 years of demonstrated experience in transportation planning, traffic engineering and design for urban and rural roadways, preferably in Canada;

- Experience managing planning and design projects and teams;

- Experience with designing or leading public participation processes for transportation projects;

- Knowledge of AASHTO, TAC and other applicable Canadian geometric design standards (knowledge of specific provincial design standards would be an asset);

- Strong technical, organizational and communication skills;

- Experience managing professional and technical staff;

- Roadway construction management experience would be an asset;

- Detailed design of rural and urban roadways would be an asset;

- Demonstrated knowledge of traffic simulation software such as Synchro 7/SimTraffic, and other applications including Highway Capacity Software (HCS) and/or VISSIM;

- Demonstrated experience with office automation software such as MSOffice (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.);

- Applicants must be registered as a Professional Engineer in Alberta or be eligible for registration in Alberta. A Master's Degree in traffic engineering or transportation planning is desirable.
