Temporary Assignment / Secondment to October 28, 2011
OPEN
The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer is seeking a detail-oriented individual to maintain the Permanent Register of Electors for Ontario (PREO) through quality assessments, data processing and use of register data, products and processes required to conduct elections and referenda. You will:
- elicit, analyze, validate and communicate quality data management requirements and recommendations into documentation and conceptual design;
- perform analysis of new and existing data sources;
- investigate impact of data sources on PREO data quality;
- identify PREO data quality problems and participate in the development and implementation of corrective action;
- identify, develop and customize standard reports and reporting formats;
- participate in special projects;
- contribute to the design, development and delivery of training to election staff and officials.
Qualifications:
· strong understanding of relational database concepts, database management software (i.e. Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Microsoft Access) and database tools (SQL Server Management Studio, TOAD);
· solid experience using the SQL language (T-SQL, SSRS, SSIS), as well as reporting and development tools to design and implement appropriate applications and scripts to evaluate PREO data quality and processes;
· demonstrated experience applying knowledge of spatial concepts and GIS software (i.e. ESRI’s ArcGIS) and ETL programs;
· demonstrated knowledge and skills in the use of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
· strong business analysis skills;
· understanding of the Elections Ontario legislative environment and electoral event and of Elections Ontario business practices, methodologies and operations.
