The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Election Event Services Division, is seeking a highly-motivated, service-oriented individual to support the Permanent Register of Electors for Ontario (PREO) by providing data processing and support services in order to meet the requirements of the PREO in the preparation of and maintenance of data products and services related to electoral and referenda events. You will:
· produce register and event-related products in print and electronic form, including lists of electors, extracts from the register, geography and address products, maps, thematic products, reports and lists;
· enter and validate elector information into/in PREO from paper-based records, ensuring the data is accurately processed;
· track correspondence between PREO and PREO clients regarding register information, products and services and respond to general inquiries with regard to policies and data;
· prepare, generate and supply data and register products, including production of statutory register products in print and electronic form, during and between electoral events;
· assist with register-based application development with IT and Operations units and liaise with staff on register support infrastructure, field systems and other PREO register data initiatives;
· perform quality control checks on PREO data and products, identifying and resolving data duplication and inconsistencies;
· maintain PREO supplies, including CDs, CD labels, paper and plotting supplies; and
· provide support and guidance to election officials and their staff regarding PREO data, products, services and elector registration.
Qualifications:
· knowledge of provincial election processes;
· ability to liaise with PREO clients and the public in a courteous, respectful and professional manner;
· ability to manage priorities with competing deadlines;
· ability to be responsive and flexible with workload demands;
· excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills;
· excellent customer service skills; and
· proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of tools, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
