Then pursue this senior-level opportunity with the Modelling and Analysis Section where you will be involved in work that is expected to place Ontario at the leading edge of environmental policies in North America.
You will lead the design, analysis and development of options to enable decision-making on major provincial environmental air policies, including regulation and legislation to support ministry/government objectives. You will work in an area responsible for providing economic research and expertise to support the development and assessment of leading edge environmental policies such as the use of economic instruments to reduce and manage air emissions and greenhouse gases in the province. You will design and lead project teams to conduct comprehensive economic analyses, consultations, development and implementation of provincial policy options, to ensure the effective protection of Ontario`s air resources. Your duties will include coordinating and delivering complex policy options for environmental air and climate change issues by leading project teams to conduct economic research using quantitative methods and developing complex data models. You will also develop and implement economic methodologies, analytical procedures, frameworks and protocols.
Qualifications:comprehensive knowledge and experience with project management, policy development, leadership and proven coordination skills to conduct multiple concurrent projects, provide guidance to colleagues, and manage competing priorities and deadlines; thorough knowledge and experience in applying the theories, principles and methodologies of: economic analysis, market-based instruments, econometric forecasting and modelling development, and environmental management; demonstrated experience applying and interpreting research and economical statistical analysis principles and techniques to lead and conduct economic and financial modelling and complex qualitative/quantitative analyses and develop econometric and social-economic forecasts; proven ability to synthesize and prepare policy options from complex and disparate information including environmental management options, government and stakeholder costs and socio-economic implications; analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills; knowledge of environmental management research, policies and programs in academic and scientific communities and in other jurisdictions within Canada to identify best practices; oral and written communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills to manage relationships, exchange information, and prepare a variety of complex reports, briefings and recommendations.
