Analyst - Social Housing Programs

Reporting to the Manager, Social Housing Administration, the Analyst Social Housing Programs is responsible for overseeing the administration of public and non-profit housing within the region to ensure that housing providers are meeting their obligations in compliance with the Social Housing Reform Act Legislation and Regulations, Regional policies and standards, and various social housing program operating agreements. You will lead the conducting of monitoring processes, operational reviews, the implementation of intervention actions, and supervisory agreements between the Region of Peel and the housing provider as required. Major responsibilities include:  provides advice and guidance to housing provider boards/management and municipality officials on legislation/policy interpretation and on effective business and property management methods, practices and systems  negotiates and resolves business/property management issues and provides briefings and recommendations to the Director, Commissioner, and/or Council  supports the review and approval of Budgets and Annual Information Returns  liaises with the appropriate staff to assist with seeking solutions to technical issues facing providers, and helping them improve technical planning and preventative maintenance process  handles Service Manager Appeals for residents regarding RGI calculations and eligibility  participates in departmental and regional initiatives to improve policies and process involving housing  partners with community stakeholders to assist providers in improving client service and/or resolving issues.

SUCCESS REQUIRES: Community College Diploma in a related field  at least three years related experience  excellent knowledge and understanding of social housing issues and all relevant legislation  demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team and lead teams when required  knowledge of Word, Excel and Lotus Notes  good communication and consulting skills  excellent problem solving and analytical abilities  demonstrated tact and diplomacy  strong presentation skills.
