This vacancy has expired and is for reference only. Region of Peel(Contract) Specialist Housing InitiativesDuration: Approximately two (2) years Human Services - Strategic Planning, Policy and Partnerships Division
As an integral member of the Strategic Planning, Policy and Partnerships team you will be reporting to the Supervisor, Design and Development, you will be required to provide technical expertise and program support for the new integrated Human Services programs, including co-ordination and implementation of the Homelessness Partnering Strategy (HPS), Affordable Housing programs and other Human Services initiatives. Other responsibilities include: • providing support to the Design and Development unit which will include analysis of policies, recent housing initiatives and financial analysis for new residential development through financial modeling and forecasting • working collaboratively with internal and external clients to fulfill the mandate of the department's Service Strategy Business Plans • researching, preparing detailed reports and statistical documentation for a variety of audiences including the Peel Living Board and Regional Council as required • collaborating with internal and external resources to co-ordinate development activities and to ensure a clear understanding of roles and responsibilities of all parties
Success Requires a University degree with at least five (5) years experience in Social Housing, Social Policy, Planning and/or Finance • familiarity with Canada-Ontario Affordable Housing Program, with experience and knowledge of the Home Ownership Component • demonstrated knowledge of social housing policy and the residential development process • knowledge of government responses to homelessness • well-developed written and verbal communication skills in order to be able to clearly explain complex financial and policy concepts to a variety of audiences, including Council • high level of independence and self-motivation • ability to handle situations of a complex, political and sensitive nature • strong organizational and time management skills • excellent interpersonal and teambuilding skills • strong computer skills • Experience and knowledge of CPMM is an asset • knowledge of French is an asset
Compensation:$57,933 to $72,416, plus a comprehensive benefit package Location:10 Peel Centre Drive, Suite B, Brampton Hours of work:35 hours/week - Monday through Friday
