Director of Housing

Reporting to the General Manager of Public Health, Safety and Social Services, the Director is responsible for administering all program aspects of the Housing Division. These include; administration and funding of social and public housing, the development of affordable housing, management of public housing, intake and wait list management, income testing, monitoring, and verification, other housing programs (Community Partners for example), and social housing policy. The Director is also responsible for developing and managing (with community partners), a system of services along the continuum of housing needs, from homelessness prevention initiatives to optimizing affordable housing options in the Brantford/Brant County Service Area.

QUALIFICATIONS:
·Several years of progressively responsible management experience, preferably in the field of social housing, including budget preparation, development experience, operation, and human resources management,
·Must possess excellent communication, facilitation and innovative leadership skills, and the necessary administrative and interpersonal skills to maintain effective relations with municipal, provincial and federal officials, outside boards and commissions, developers, private and public sector stakeholders, and departmental staff,
·Must have working knowledge of the Social Housing Reform Act and Regulations, and other relevant legislation,
·Must possess strategic thinking abilities, solution development, and team leadership skills to deliver results in a complex high profile environment
·Post-secondary degree from a recognized university in a related discipline and/or accreditation from a recognized Professional Management Association such as C.I.M., A.I.H.M., C.P.M

You have several years of management experience, preferably in the area of social housing, along with a post-secondary degree from a recognized university in a related discipline and/or accreditation from a recognized Professional Management Association such as C.I.M., A.I.H.M., C.P.M . Your exemplary communications, administrative, and interpersonal skills, enable you to maintain efficient leadership as well as co-ordinate relations with municipal, provincial, and federal officials and other associates in the social housing field.

SALARY RANGE: $98,770 to $123,463 per annum based on 35-hour workweek plus benefits
