SNC LavalinGIS SpecialistSNC-Lavalin requires an experienced GIS Specialist to join our Toronto team. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the following:
Provide operational and technical expertise for GIS projects and assist with client technical support issues as needed.
Use real time Global Positioning System (GPS) for data collection/tracking
Perform satellite imagery control and multiple overlay operations for environmental impact assessment (EIA) and change detection.
Execute digital orthographic map editing and symbolization analysis for infrastructure projects.
Produce analysis and modeling of multi-modal transport systems
Feature extraction, analysis and interpretation of soil strata and materials from multispectral/highperspectral satellite data.
Perform GIS analysis to assist with transportation modeling and constraint analysis of site access options
Design and production of display and report maps
Enhance base maps using existing maps and field survey as necessary
Prepare models for entry of water, wastewater, water resources data and transportation projects
Participate in project review/assessment, requirements gathering, and analysis on GIS projects.
Complete field work related to projects.
Carry out GIS database development, project data maintenance; produce digital map products, database compilation, and data conversion using GIS software.
Perform GIS training design and implementation.
Deliver project reporting and presentation to clients.
The candidate must possess:
B.A.Sc. or diploma in Geographic Information Systems, or related discipline
5-10 years previous experience.
Proficient in the use of GIS tools such as ESRI suite
Comfortable with Vector and Raster analysis.
Able to complete geo-processing; including joining and buffering.
Experience in mapping projects and integration of different spatial data sources working with multidisciplinary teams.
Strong knowledge of database management, integration, and interpolation methods.
Available to travel outside the country
Salary range is $50,627 to $75,920 per year plus benefits and RSP etc.
