Job Opportunity

The Geospatial Data Analyst will provide advanced technical expertise, leadership, and support while being responsible for the management, oversight and advancement of the County’s Enterprise Geospatial Data Program. Leading the architecture, design, administration, and maintenance of the County’s Enterprise Geodatabases to ensure data reliability and accessibility are the key responsibilities of this position. In addition, the Geospatial Data Analyst will provide leadership input to the County’s Enterprise GIS Portfolio and is responsible for providing GIS technology services and support to County departments, staff, citizens and businesses in a timely and customer-focused manner. This position is also responsible for providing leadership and technical guidance to County departments' GIS staff and assisting in the effort to increase the GIS fluency at the County and the use of geospatial technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing leadership and guidance for Data Architecture of the County’s Enterprise GIS
  • Support the mission of the GIS team by providing leadership and maintaining expert level technical knowledge
  • Ensure County department users are well supported and productive in their use of County Geospatial technology
  • Steward existing services and extend existing services by successfully implementing Geospatial Data projects
  • Plan, build and maintain a program for the County’s Corporate Geospatial Datasets that will ensure quality, currency, reliability, and accessibility

Qualifications:

  • A University Degree in GIS or Geography along with 7 years related experience in GIS or a related two-year diploma in GIS along with 10 years related experience. Experience in GIS must include at least two years of development and management of either an ArcSDE Enterprise Geodatabase or an ArcGIS for Server installation.
  • Proficient user of ESRI GIS Suite of tools including: ArcMap, ArcSDE, & ArcGIS for Server
  • Expert level knowledge of: ESRI Geodatabase data format, ArcGIS data models, & FME. Strong working knowledge of MS SQL Server, MS Office Productivity tools, MS Project, MS Visio.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of GIS, data architecture, spatial analysis and cartography
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong presentation skills
  • Business Analysis and Project Management training or experience would be considered an asset
  • GISP Certification or ESRI Certification would be considered an asset

The salary range for this permanent position is $83,957 to $104,941, working 35 hours per week.
