VALASSIS CANADA has an immediate opening for a full-time Senior GIS Analyst based in our Toronto office. The individual will utilize their GIS experience and skills to build geo-targeted marketing solutions for clients working with the various teams within Valassis Canada.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- The GIS Senior Analyst collaborates with our Sales and Client Services teams to provide analysis and solutions that meet our client’s needs
- Utilize in-house databases and software including MapInfo 12.5, Statistics Canada, Canada Post information, etc. to execute client programs
- Stays current with technology trends, changes and new GIS systems and provides recommendations on how these may enhance our business
Experience and Skills:
- Three to five years of GIS related work experience is a must
- A GIS and/or Geography related post-secondary designation is a must
- Knowledge of the marketing industry an asset
- Advanced knowledge of Access, Excel and general SQL
- Knowledge of programming theory (FoxPro &/or MapBasic Programming an asset)
- Experience with postal geography including Canada Post data, census geography, demographic variables/data and profile/cluster data
- Excellent interpersonal, time management, analytical, communication, presentation and problem solving skills
- Detail oriented and deadline driven
- Ability to collaborate with both internal and external groups aligning department goals with corporate objectives
