Summit Environmental Consultants Ltd.Intermediate / Senior Environmental ScientistSummit Environmental Consultants Inc. seeks an intermediate/senior environmental scientist to join our team of professionals in Saskatoon, SK. Candidates should have an undergraduate or post-graduate degree in an environmental discipline (e.g. biology, ecology, physical geography, land use and environmental studies, or natural resource science) with a minimum of 5 years of consulting experience. Registration, or eligibility for registration with a professional organization is required.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Knowledge of aquatic and terrestrial habitats;
- Knowledge of Species at Risk and sensitive habitats in central Canada;
- Experience in completing environmental impact assessments;
- Experience working under federal and provincial regulatory processes;
- Experience in liaising with regulatory agents; and
- Experience working with First Nations groups.
The successful applicant will play a key role in the Saskatoon office. He or she will complete assessments, prepare plans and reports, prepare proposals, develop and nurture relationships with existing clients, and help develop business with new clients. The successful applicant will work on projects for a range of clients including provincial, federal and local governments, mining firms, First Nations, watershed organizations, oil and gas firms, construction companies, utilities groups, and small businesses throughout Saskatchewan and across western and northern Canada.
